Purpose of the Hangout

The Hangout Movement! Our mission is aimed at creating an attractive Christ-inspired lifestyle that unified the Body of Christ and demonstrates the transformational power of His love with the world. Understanding love is at the root of all things good because God is love; our response to this love is to love others. The Bible says, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35) How simple, right? The core behind The Hangout Movement is love – its power has no end and we want to share this with a world that so desperately needs a touch and a church that needs a reminder.

Our Vision

Develop and use God’s gifts and talents to the fullest

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. – 1 Peter 4:10

Build community through fellowship

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. “ – Acts 2:42-44

Empower Christians to show the love of Christ to others and each other in order to win non-believers to the Kingdom

“For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.” – 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

Provide a confidential environment to allow God to heal through counseling

“Through insolence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.” – Proverbs 13:10 “Without consultation, plans are frustrated, But with many counselors they succeed.” – Proverbs 15:22 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” – James 5:16

Be a reflection of Christ

“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord--who is the Spirit--makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18
